Dr. Krista Schroeder

PhD, RN, CCRN

Clinical Advisor and Research Lead

Young woman with shoulder-length red hair, wearing a sleeveless black top and a colorful blue, purple, and yellow patterned scarf, smiling against a plain gray background.

Dr. Krista Schroeder serves as Clinical Advisor and Research Lead at TINI Studio, where she brings dual expertise as a public health researcher and practicing nurse to advance trauma-informed design. Committed to health equity and person-centered care, Dr. Schroeder bridges clinical insight with community-based planning. Her research—much of it supported by major funders such as the National Institutes of Health—focuses on trauma-informed approaches to promoting the well-being of individuals and communities. Believing that trauma research must be grounded in direct engagement, she maintains a clinical practice as a Burn ICU nurse at a safety-net hospital and serves as an on-call Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for a citywide clinic. At TINI, she co-develops research and evaluation frameworks, informs health-centered design standards, and supports cross-sector innovation that fosters healing through the built environment.
